The Softball Girls
We are the softball girls,
We don't wear fancy pearls,
We don't shop in mini-malls,
We just play with bats and balls.
We don't sit in velvet seats,
We sit down in dirty cleats.
We don't need no mushy love,
We just need our baseball glove.
We don't dream of girly stuff,
We just dream of being tough.
We don't play with kitty-cats,
We just like our all-star hats.
We don't sit around primping our hair,
We sit in the dugout sniffing the dusty air.
We don't babysit or play around,
We work hard on the dirty ground.
We don't wear makeup on our faces,
We throw the ball hard, hands on the laces.
We don't let boys get on our cases,
We just huff and puff rounding the bases.
Other girls get on our cases
But we don't really care,
That is how we live our life,
Sniffing the dusty air.
